Sewang is an artistic performance important to some of the Orang Asli communities of penisular Malaysia. The performance can have various differing objectives, including healing, celebration and thanksgiving and it is closely connected to animism to the spirits and influence of the world of nature. The music the role of a halaq, the dance steps and the preparations for a sewang ceremony allow us to see something of the culture and philosophy of life of the Orang Asli. The sewang displayed in this documentary is that of the Semai ethnic of Kampung Sungai Rensak, Tapah, Perak.
