It's a Cross Country Road Race to the finish with championship race car drivers Tom and Jerry. This cross country race will settle their race rival once and for all. The race starts and Tom is in the lead but is passed by Jerry fairly quickly. Tom pushes a button in his race car which produces a large, robotic fist set to smash Jerry. Jerry evades the fist which eventually lands on Tom. The race is on and Jerry is in the lead. Tom manages to catch up to Jerry and is trying to pass Jerry by honking his horn. Jerry refuses to let Tom pass so Tom goes the extra step by literally stepping around Jerry into the lead. With a big lead, Tom ducks around a corner, parks and tries to set a oil trap for Jerry who easily goes through it. Tom gets back into his race car, however his trap backfires on him sending him through a field, a bull, a barn and crashing into tree with the no angry bull on top of Tom's car. Tom is then chased by the bull to a farm house where Tom finds a red cape and starts some bull fighting antics. Tom losses the bull fighting when the bull's brother shows up to run Tom over. Tom eventually gets back in the race and is now hot on Jerry's tail through mountain roads. Tom's next secret trick is to use a large magnet to pick up Jerry's race car and place him behind Tom's car. However, Jerry has a few tricks as well and with a push of a button now has a jet engine that puts Jerry in front again. Tom still has his magnet out trying to increase its power to capture the rocket that is Jerry. However, Jerry crosses an steel bridge and Tom's magnet is now attracting the metal from that. With the bridge gone, Tom crashes into the ravine with all the steel girders on top of him. Tom catches up again and manages to run Jerry off the road into a river. Jerry stuck in the water, pushes a button that causes the race car to now be a racing boat. Jerry soon passes Tom, but Tom will not be undone and drives into the water and converts his race car into a speed boat. With Tom in hot pursuit and gaining on Jerry, Tom launches a torpedo to end things. However, Jerry turns the torpedo back on Tom who runs the opposite way and gets on land outwitting the torpedo. The torpedo then launches a couple of missiles at Tom who throws them into his car and blowing everything up. Jerry ends up crossing the finish line and is given a big trophy full of money and praised for his sportsmanship. Tom, on other hand, hobbles his broken race car over the finish line only to be given hundreds of tickets by a police officer for all the road rules he has broken.
This animated feature is also accompanied by a practical guide which gives young viewers a good grasp of basic concepts in literature. It will help them gain a better appreciation of the story, and aid them in developing better vocabulary, analytical and com-positional abilities.
